Local Rescue Dogs

Lyons Kennels donates facilities to several local non-profit rescue groups and works with them to find homes for homeless animals, including Nittany Beagle Rescue, Pets Come First, the local SPCA, and Centre County PAWS.

Two of the rescue dogs currently staying at Lyons Kennels in need of a home are:

Lucky

Hi! My name is Lucky and I'm an adorable 10 month-old male beagle. I am an affectionate, sociable and playful pup! I am also very active. I love to play ball, tag and tug-of-war! I enjoy car rides! I belonged to an elderly couple who had trouble keeping up with me, and so I'm a little overweight. I need someone who can help me shed those few extra pounds! I lived with another dog in my prior home, and got along well with that dog. I could use some some additional training. I know how to use a doggie door, but I need work on housetraining. I will run out the door, jump up on people, and steal, so my new owners will want to work with me on those things, also. I come back most of the time if you call me and if you act real happy to see me! I like to chew on things - but of course, that's what puppies do! I will need an experienced owner who can work with me on those training issues. I respond very well to praise (& food!). I'm not cratetrained yet. I am already neutered! I need a home! For more information, please email info@nittanybeaglerescue.org.

Service to Local Law Enforcement

Lyons Kennels works with the Spring Township Police Department, the Bellefonte Borough Police Department, and surrounding State Police Departments as a drop-off point for lost and stray dogs. We work with the police to return these dogs to their owners. If the owner cannot be identified, we work with local animal rescue groups to place the dog in a new home.

Nittany Beagle Rescue
